A Peek At Past Events
Black Friday Part One: Summer 2018
In the summer of 2018, Black Friday was to re-introduce the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood to a local hair salon, Honey Comb Hair Studio, that started a partnership with the Audri Phyllis Lifestyle Brand. The owners wanted a small launch of no more than 40 people and wanted to be able to sell their merchandise at the event. It was a success.
Black Friday Pop-up Part 2
The second Black Friday Event with three featured vendors, artwork, drinks, and music. We also made a very strong effort to highlight local painters and photo artists.
Details from Lulu.
The summer of 2018 I was introduced to Kahlif Ausby. I attended a BBQ at his home, and we began to chit chat. He let me know that he was an artist then invited me to see his work in his home studio. I was blown away by his talent. One piece completely moved me. It was a piece he commissioned after the fallout from the Kaepernick kneeling protest donned “Home of the Bruised”.
Mr Ausby not only created a riveting display of artwork; he had the forethought to turn the painting in to hoodie. I immediately purchased one and stated, “I am going to create a photo-shoot for you”.
With that thought in mind I set out looking for a photographer. I ran into the Amazing Alexaiver of Alexaiver Media. A phenom with a camera. Later on I was able to gather a team, get the shoot done, without a budget. All participants volunteered to help me bring my project to fruition. Wanting to pay homage to Mr. Spike Lee and highlight other independently owned Minority Businesses, we All created something beautiful. The rest is Her-story!

"I'm Ur Pusher, Cooperative Economics"
Not only does The LaDeeDa Life work with independant brands, we spend our money with them too!
Adulting Has Been Canceled
“Adulting Has Been Canceled” was created by Founder Lulu of The LaDeeDa LIfe. It was the celebration of the unofficial holiday for cannabis. Unless you’re a wealthy minority, you cannot break into a NOW legal business (in some states). We highlighted companies that are thriving in the industry and other minority-owned businesses. We were able to push our mission of cooperative economics in the black and brown community. The venue, vendors, chefs, and staff were all from the black & brown community.
If you did not want to partake in the delights that were offered, we had other activities to choose from, including a movie room: art, food, live performances, body painting, to name a few. A place where you could take your adult hat off and literally “Kickback.”

Black Friday Part Three Micro Pop-Up & Concert
We curated this event to help six local small business owners combat the harsh reality that the pandemic showed in 2020. We wanted to allow vendors to have an opportunity to display their goods at the start of the holiday season. We were able to also create a micro concert with independent Artist T-Kor Each vendor was able to walk away with an experience, a message, and a profit. It was also an homage to our 2nd Black Friday event in 2018.
